Mae Hensley Junior High School seventh-grader Michalle Gonzalez was honored by her school and the Ceres Rotary Club as the Rotary Student of the Month.
Michalle was chosen because she exemplifies outstanding academic citizenship and serves as a strong role model on the school campus.
During her first semester of junior high, Michalle earned an impressive 3.8 Grade Point Average (GPA), demonstrating her dedication to learning and academic excellence. She consistently stays on task, turns in quality work and puts forth her best effort in every class. When faced with challenges, she works hard to improve and never gives up.
Michalle is respectful, responsible and acts with integrity. She actively participates in class, treats others with kindness, and takes responsibility for her actions and commitments. Her integrity is evident in the pride she takes in her work and her willingness to help others without being asked.
Michalle volunteers regularly and arrives early before first period to help set up chairs for her drama class. She also participates in extracurricular activities such as Drama Club, successfully balancing her interests with her responsibilities.
