The day after Chaka Khan performs at the Stanislaus County Fair, country superstar Dwight Yoakam is set to offer his rhinestone- bedazzled, honky- tonk show.

Khan, who is best known for "I'm Every Woman," "Ain't Nobody" and "Through the Fire", will perform at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13 on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage.

Yoakam will perform on at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 14.
The concerts are free with fair admission.

"Chaka Khan is a musical icon," said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. "The concert will be fierce with a high energy performance bringing all her loved songs."

She burst onto the music scene in the 1970's as the lead singer of the band Rufus. During her 40-year career, she has developed a vast international fan base and performed on six continents. Her most recent Grammy came in 2002 with her cover of the Marvin Gaye mega-hit, "What's Going On" with The Funk Brothers.

Chaka Khan is a 10-time Grammy Award winner (with 22 Grammy nominations), while having the unique ability to sing in eight music genres, including R&B, jazz, pop, rock, gospel, country, classical and dance music.

Alkhas called Dwight Yoakam "a legendary country performer" and predicts "this will be a performance fans will be raving about for years to come."

Yoakam's distinctive vocals, accented with his Kentucky croon, first made their debut to the public at large with his first album release in 1985. Its release immediately yielded hit singles, and over the course of over 21 albums - totaling more than 25 million in sales worldwide - Yoakam has continued to passionately sing, write, and play music brimming with hard country and rock & roll. His latest release, "Second Hand Heart" was self-produced and reflects where he has been, but also where he is going.

The 2016 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 8 for a 10-day run. Discounted Fair admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the Fair season pass will be on sale beginning April 30. Corporate ticket sales will also be available to purchase at a highly discounted rate. Visit the Fair's website for upcoming ticket sale information at www.stancofair.com.
