Ceres Police released a photo of the man who aimed a handgun at a Quik Stop store clerk Thursday evening and staged a robbery.

The photo shows a Caucasian man who is likely in his 20s or 30s, wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt. He walked into the store at the corner of Service and Morgan roads at 9:30 p.m. and demanded cash. The robber was given an undisclosed amount of cash and did not physically harm the clerk.

The shaken clerk, who was alone at the time, waited approximately 30 minutes before calling police.

A canine tracked the scent of the suspect up Morgan Road to westbound Tranquil Lane and ended at Willow Pond Court. Police believe the scent ended there because the suspect may have got into his car and drove away.

The suspect may have been wearing Nike shoes.

Anyone who saw the suspect or knows his identity is urged to call Detective Derek Perry at 538-5131.
