A rosary was held at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Adeline Souza Soares Lemacher, 93, of Modesto. She died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.

A Mass was held Monday at St. Jude's Catholic Church. Burial was at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.

Born April 4, 1911, Mrs. Lemacher was a native of Half Moon Bay and lived in Modesto 18 years. She was a homemaker, and was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.

She leaves behind three children, Darlene Travao and Eldora Avila, both of Modesto, and Jack P. Souza of Merced; her stepson, Joe Lemacher Sr. of Redwood City; her brother, Melvin Soares of Gustine; her sister, Mabel Ahr of Washington; and 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John O. Souza Sr. and Joseph Lemacher Sr.; daughters, Joyace Souza and Joyce Menezes; stepson, Jerry Lemacher; and one grandson.
