A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26 at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon for Alfred A. Dunson, 78. He died Feb. 13, 2010.

Arrangements are being handled by Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon

Born Nov. 30, 1932, Alfred attended Ceres High School where he held a track record for many years. He then attended Sacramento State College and West Point Academy after three IQ tests and his academic ability garnered scholarship offers. He served in the Air Force, and became a member of the International Aerospace Machinist in 1959; and served as president of Lodge #1528 for over 30 years and was then elected to Area Rep. for San Joaquin County in 1989.

Mr. Dunson enjoyed gardening and growing cacti, flowers, fruits and vegetables. He also enjoyed keeping tropical fish and taking photographs.

He leaves behind his daughter, Heid;, two granddaughters, Stephanie and Jessica; and his three great-granddaughters Sally Violet Cesko and Harlow Cadmiri. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart Arlene Bryant Dunson in 2005.
