A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today Lakewood Memorial Park for Alfred L. Black, 91, of Hughson. He died May 12, 2011 in Modesto with his family at his side.
Born Aug. 21,1919 in Shawnee, Okla., Alfred moved to California 70 years ago and moved to Hughson 60 years ago.
He leaves behind two grandchildren, Marlene Brackett of Hughson and Justin Brackett of Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Steven Brackett of Hughson, Trenton Brackett and Amberlyn Brackett, both of Oklahoma; and his great-great-grandson, David Alfred Brackett of Hughson. He was preceded in death by parents Roy and Nora Black, wife Nadine Black, daughter Patricia Brackett, sisters Irene Casey and Goldie Billings and companion Evalyne Anderson.
