It is with deep sadness that the passing of Alma L. Roberts is announced. She lost her courageous battle on April 30, 2015.

Services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral home on Friday, May 8 at 1 p.m. Viewing will be on Thursday, May 7 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 8 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Lakewood Memorial Park is located at 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson.

Alma was born April 3, 1923 in Holdenville, Okla., as one of nine children of Henry and Mattie Shores. Alma spent her early life in the Hughes County area of Oklahoma. On Feb. 15, 1940 Alma married W.B. (Bill /Chuck) Roberts. Over the course of their lives they had five children and lived in Southern California, Texas, North Dakota and Colorado. They entered retirement in Texas and then moved to Ceres in 1986.

Alma is survived by her four children, Barbara Joran and her husband Paul, Ken Roberts and his wife Alisha, the widow of Keith, Margie Roberts, Vicki McGuire and her husband Joe, Jeff Roberts and his wife Pat; two sisters and one brother; her grandchildren, Lance Keck, Derrek Keck, Kelly Clendenen, Callie Gaede, Shannon Fortune, Leif McGuire, Brooks Roberts, Chad Bennett, Will Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Jason Roberts and Heather Geiring; and 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by husband W.B. Roberts, son Keith B. Roberts, granddaughter Alexandra Bond Roberts, two brothers, three sisters and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
