Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Arlene Joyce Skinner, 72, of Castro Valley. The former Ceres resident died April 16, 2009.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Valley Christian Center, 2745 Second St., Ceres.

Born Dec. 25, 1936 in Modesto to Pearle and Geraldine Brown, Arlene was the oldest of four children. She was raised in Ceres. Arlene married Harold Dean Skinner and moved to Castro Valley to raise her family. She was a school bus driver for a number of years and was very involved with the church youth group. She was devoted to Jesus, her husband, children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Harold Skinner of Castro Valley; her children, Hal Skinner, Melody Robertson, Brian Skinner and Dareama Ruble; two brothers, Bruce Brown and Raymond Brown; her sister, Sandra Dunn; and six grandchildren Justin Robertson, Daniel Robertson, Keith Skinner, Victoria Skinner, Paul Ruble and Morgan Ruble.
