Barbara Jaquetta (Welch) Lapham, 69, of Bolivar, Mo., passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Mo.

According to Barbara’s wishes her body will be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, Mo. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Modesto.

She was born Dec. 9, 1949, in Yuma, Ariz., to Hubert Garrett and Thelma Irene (Gilbert) Welch. She was united in marriage to Roland “Ron” Lapham on August 6, 1975, in Carson City, Nev. For a time she lived in Keyes. She was a member of Polk County Democratic Committee.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ron Lapham of Bolivar, Mo.; three daughters, Diana Volkmar and her significant other Andre Botha, both of Bolivar, Mo., Terri McCann of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Allecia Lemmon and her husband Justin of Bolivar, Mo; stepson James Lapham and his wife Dorothy of Atlanta, Ga.; two step-daughters, Regina Bagwell of California, and Demaris Pires of Lake Shasta; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; one brother Jonathan “Bimbo” Welch and his wife Valerie of Santa Maria; three sisters, Sharon Spratley, and Bernice Sanders and her husband Bob, all of Modesto, and Tina McHarg and her husband Don of Coultersville; as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Eugene Welch and sister Helen McNiel.
