A memorial service is pending at the Samaritan Village in Hughson for Betty Jean McBride, 82, of Hughson. She died Jan. 16, 2010 peacefully at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.
Allen Mortuary in Turlock was in charge of private burial at Turlock Memorial Park.
Born in January 1928 in San Jose, and was raised in Watsonville, Betty Jean moved to San Luis Obispo in 1955 and then retired to Turlock in1984. She lived in Denair from 1990 until she settled to the Samaritan Village in Hughson in 2001. She belonged to the Good Sam Club of Modesto, and enjoyed water color painting.
She leaves behind two daughters, Nancy Smith of Bowling Green, Ky., and Christine Taylor of Denair; her sister, Beverly Clark of Groveland; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Remembrances may be sent to the American Heart Association.
