Funeral services were held Monday at Ceres Memorial Park Cemetery for Betty Jo "Nanny" Bartlett, 75, of Ceres. She died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 with her family by her side after a long illness with cancer.

Eaton Family Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Born July 14, 1932, Mrs. Bartlett was a native of Claremont, Okla., and had been a resident of Ceres for over 70 years. She was married to Roy Bartlett of Ceres and was a wonderful and loving mother to her children. Mrs. Bartlett was a member of the Church of Christ in Empire. She enjoyed her Ladies Bible Study and was active in her church. Mrs. Bartlett enjoyed corresponding with children in Ghana, Africa, teaching them the Bible. She had a talent for making beautiful quilts, as well as knitting afghans; she had also made dolls and had sewn so many beautiful clothes for family members and others.

She leaves behind five children, Jerry Bartlett of Ceres, Shirley Tubbs of Modesto, Judith Teeples of Empire, Barbara Bartlett of Modesto and Nancy Garrad of Ceres; and 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Barlett.
