A memorial service was held Tuesday morning at Samaritan Village for Clayton Howard McBride, 85, of Hughson. He died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Burial was at San Joaquin Valley NationalCemetery in Santa Nella under the direction of Allen Mortuary.
Born Aug. 6, 1920, Mr. McBride was a native of Ramona, S.D., and was raised in Madison, S.D. He was a locomotive engineer. Mr. McBride moved to California in the late 1930s, and had lived in Stanislaus County for 20 years. He was a member of the Locomotive Engineers union, Good Sam Travelers Club and Samaritan Village Chapel. Mr. McBride enjoyed fishing and working with wood.
He leaves behind his wife, Betty Jean Thompson McBride of Denair; two daughters, Nancy Ann Smith of Bakersfield and Christine Taylor of Denair; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
