A memorial was held Tuesday for Clifford Joe Harris, 76, of Ceres. He died Friday, May 13, 2005 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

Allen Mortuary was in charge of private inurnment.

Born Oct. 29, 1928, Mr. Harris was a native of Antlers, Okla., and lived in Ceres since 1963. He lived in Antlers until age 13 and then lived in San Pedro where he finished high school in 1946. He enlisted in the Navy, serving until 1948, then moved to Hilmar. He married in 1950 and then lived in Livermore. Mr. Harris was a truck driver for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting.

He leaves behind his wife, Joy Harris of Ceres; four children, Karen Armstrong and Paul Harris, both of Ceres, Jan Harris of Reno, Nev., and Steven Harris of Michigan; and seven grandchildren.
