A graveside service was held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Friday for Daniel Paul Biggs, 89, of Ceres. He died June 8, 2012 at his home.

Born Jan. 19, 1923 in Coweta, Okla., to Charlie and Nora Biggs, Daniel was honorably dischared from the Army in Jnauary 1946. He retired from Flintcoat Genstar Company to his small farm in Ceres to work on small engine repair. Mr. Biggs enjoyed playing on Yosemite Lanes and Modesto Bowl bowling leagues, fishing, hunting and telling stores.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Betty Biggs of Ceres; his son, Doug Biggs of North Carolina; his brother, Fred Biggs of Riverside; his daughter-in-law, Ellen Fontaine of Philo; and his grandchildren, Brock Biggs, Brody Biggs, Lauren Biggs, Jennie Biggs and Jody Biggs. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Danny, sisters Lorene Cheary and Gertie Scott, brothers Richard and John, grandson Conner Douglas Biggs, and great-grandson Benjamin Kraemer.
