A memorial service was held Monday at the Ceres Seventh-day Adventist Church for Doris Ruby Nast Diede, 82, of Ceres. She died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

A graveside service was Monday at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel

Born March 30, 1923, Mrs. Diede was a native of Desium, N.D., and lived in Ceres since 1962 and previously in Lodi for six years. Mrs. Diede was a teacher for 35 years in the Ceres Unified School District and last taught at Walter White School. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mrs. Diede enjoyed reading and travel.

She leaves behind her husband, Elmer Diede of Ceres; two children, Barry C. Diede of Moberly, Mo., and Cynthia R. Lemos of Waterford; her sister, Vivian Richardson of Santa Rosa; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
