A memorial service will be held at the Masonic Temple in Napa at 1 p.m. on Thursday for Dorothy Signe Mogford, 93, of Napa. The former Stanislaus County resident died Aug. 29, 2010 quietly in her home.
Born Dec, 31, 1916, Mrs. Mogford was a member of Eastern Star #72 in Modesto and received her 50-year member pin in 2003. She was Guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel #171 in Ceres and was active in the Sacramento Swedish Vassa Club. Dorothy maintained an ongoing pursuit of knowledge, attending college even into her 60s. She will be remembered for her many and unfailing acts of kindness and generosity of spirit.
She leaves behind her husband of 71 years, Clarkson J. Mogford of Napa; her children, Linda Thomson and Pamela Lash; and three grandchildren Jamie Thompson, Clifton Thompson and Victoria Larsen.
