A funeral service was held Thursday at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Edgar Grant Pearson, Jr., 70, of Turlock. He died at his home with family beside him on May 17.

A graveside service was held Friday at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Born December, 1938 in Modesto to Edgar and Mary Jo Pearson, Edgar was raised in Modesto and Hughson. He graduated from Hughson High School. He served in the Navy for three years. He lived in San Jose and had worked for IBM for over 30 years. In 1992, he settled in Turlock. Mr. Pearson was a member of the E Clampus Vitus and was the first Humbug of the Mountain Charlie Chapter #1850 in San Jose. Edgar enjoyed coaching boys and girls in Little League, sailing, computers, and spending time with family and friends.

He leaves behind his children, Thomas Pearson, Shawn Grimes, Meghan Pearson and Ryan Pearson; his brothers, Gilbert Pearson, Bruce Pearson, David Pearson, Donald Pearson and Marshall Pearson; his sisters, Lorrine Allen, Gail Susanne Ward-Baker and Jackie Leonard; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Chris, and Alex.
