A Mass was held Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto for Edward Frank Ferro, 83, of Ceres. He died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Jan. 16, 1922, Mr. Ferro was a native of Lodi and lived in Ceres for 75 years. He was a claims representative for Freese and Gianelli and had worked for an auto body shop for 22 years. Mr. Ferro was a graduate of Modesto High School. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Ferro enjoyed cooking, flying his plane and farming.

He leaves behind his wife, Judi Ferro of Ceres; three children, Edward L. Ferro, Judy Taylor and Sara Ferro, all of Modesto; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
