A private memorial service was held for Edward Helvik Jr., 86, of Ceres. He died Feb. 4, 2010 in Tracy.

The Neptune Society was in charge of cremation.

Born Nov. 26, 1923, Edward was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

He leaves behind two daughters, Raney Carrasco Palmer and Ina Bounds.
