A funeral service was held Monday at Keyes Assembly of God for Eugene "Gener" Turner, 79, of Keyes. She died Nov. 11, 2011 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.

A graveside service was held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born September 1932 in Oklahoma to Charles and Frances Walker, Eugene moved to California in 1941, settling in Stanislaus County. Gener has been a faithful member of the Keyes Assembly of God for many years, where she attended with her daughter Jeanette and friends. She enjoyed crocheting and making things for others.

She leaves behind her daughter, Jeanette Kullbom of Keyes; her sister, Imogene Robinson; her brother, Charles Walker; and two grandsons, Zeth Turner and Grant Burnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cassiel Turner (1977), brothers Joe Walker and Kenneth Walker; and sister Christine Roberts.
