A funeral service was held Saturday at Turlock Memorial Park for Flora M. Elliott, 90, of Turlock. The former Hughson woman died recently at Emanuel Medical Center.

Born in January, 1919 in Fellows to Robert and Ruth Vandergriff, Flora moved to Livingston as a young child where she attended school, and later graduated from Livingston High School. Shortly after high school, she moved to Turlock, where she met Glenn Elliott, whom she married in 1937. They owned and operated Bradley's Diner from the late 1930s into the early 1940s. In the mid 1940s they moved to Santa Cruz where they remained until moving to a ranch Hughson in 1952. This ranch would be the place that Flora raised and nurtured her children for 20 years. They also raised chickens, peaches and walnuts. In the 1960s Flora worked as a secretary for the Turlock Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Elliott enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking.

She leaves behind two children, Pam Rice of Turlock, and Glenn Elliott of Idaho; three sisters, Roberta Moss of Stockton, Helen Kisling of Turlock, and Micki Traube of Stockton; and four grandchildren.

Remembrances may be sent to a favorite charity.
