Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Frances "Fran" D. Hirdes, 82, of Ceres. She died Oct. 29, 2010 at Bel Air Lodge in Turlock.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Allen Mortuary.
Interment will be private at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born May 1928 in Farmersville, Fran was the second of six children born to Joseph and Mary Riberio. The family later moved to Ceres where Fran attended Ceres High School and graduted in 1947. In 1949, she married Les Hirdes. Together they worked hard in the farming and dairy business for over 40 years. They were married 50 years. Mrs. Hirdes enjoyed line dancing, rodeos, roping and family gatherings. She timed for the CTRA for over 25 years.
She leaves behind her son, Ed Hirdes; her grandchildren, Ashley, Grant, Kent, Blake, Kim, and Katie; and four great-grandchildren, Shayla, Colten, Dylan, and Reese. She was preceded in death by husband Les Hirdes in 1999, daughter Leslie in 2008.
