A funeral will be at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at First Baptist Church for Fred Wayne Randle Sr., 71, of Modesto. He died Thursday, May 12, 2005 in an auto accident on Highway 132 east of Waterford.

Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home.

Born Oct. 10, 1933, Mr. Randle was a native of Sparkman, Ark., and lived in Stanislaus County for 31 years and previously lived in Norwalk for 20 years. He was a plant manager for International Paper Co. Mr. Randle was a volunteer for the YMCA of Stanislaus County and The Salvation Army. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and making walking sticks. He was a member of Spring Creek Golf and Country Club in Ripon.

He leaves behind his wife, Carol Randle of Modesto; three children, Fred W. Randle Jr. of Ceres, Cindy D. Blount of Riverbank and Daniel C. Randle of Sacramento; three brothers, William J. Randle of Ceres, Darrell Randle of Dardenelle, Ark., and William T. Randle of Dubberly, La.; two sisters, Dora A. Wilson of Malvern, Ark., and Eva L. Griffith of Minden, La.; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
