A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Chapel in Modesto for Geneva "Nana" May Graybeal, 82, of Ceres. She died Feb. 28, 2009 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

Allen Mortuary is in charge of arrangements, including private interment at Turlock Memorial Park.

Born August 1926, Geneva was born in Springfield, Mo., to Henry and Alma Patton. She moved to Turlock in 1944. In 1966, she married Wayne Graybeal and moved to Ceres, where she had lived ever since. Geneva worked for CVC and Kraft Foods in quality control. Mrs. Graybeal attended Calvary Chapel in Modesto and was a member of 50 Plus Club of Ceres. Geneva was the current vice president of the club, but has also served as the president and "sunshine lady"! She enjoyed crocheting, girl's lunches out, country music, jokes, playing with her great-grandchildren, traveling with the 50 Plus Club, camping and cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves behind her husband, Wayne Graybeal of Ceres; two children, Jennie Bergman of Turlock and Dave Graybeal of Ceres; her sister, Beatrice Baldwin of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, Randy Nordell, Rick Nordell and Robyn Berdino; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister Bernice Roth and first husband Harvey Essary.
