A graveside service was held Monday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Gertrude E. Todd Poynor, 91, of Modesto. She died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004 at Doctors Medical Center.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Dec. 30, 1912, Mrs. Poynor was a native of Porter, Okla., and lived in Modesto for 60 years. She was a licensed vocational nurse at Memorial Hospital South, Ceres, for 20 years, and previously worked at John Inglis Frozen Foods. Mrs. Poyner enjoyed gardening and needlework.

She leaves behind three children, John Poynor of Modesto, Velma Fitz of Bellingham, Wash., and Don Poynor of Stockton; her brother, Darrell Todd of Oakdale; two sisters, Dorothy McConnell of Fort Bragg and Virginia Cope of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Jackson Poynor.
