A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lakewood Funeral Home & Memorial Park for Grace B. Rexin, 90, of Hughson. She died Jan. 31, 2009.

A reception will follow the graveside service, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 640 Minaret Avenue, Turlock.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Born Dec. 23, 1918 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Albert and Bessie Holmquist, Grace moved with her family to Hughson in 1934. She was married to Alton W. Rexin Sept. 7, 1941, and lived on the corner of Geer Road and Whitmore Avenue where she raised three children. Mrs. Rexin was involved in the 4-H, and was a Cub Scout den-mother and was a lifetime member of the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association with her husband. She was a full-time housewife and wonderful cook, but also worked at times as a secretary and at the peach docks for Beechnut. Mrs. Rexin enjoyed working in her garden.

She leaves behind her three children, Mary Blithe, Jerry and Burton Rexin; two sisters, Agnes Harkness and Ines Walker; three half-brothers, Glenn Holmquist, Ray Holmquist and Emmet Holmquist; her half-sister, Erma Underwood; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Alton Rexin who died the day before their 55th anniversary, and her parents.
