A Celebration of Life was held at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Modesto for Grace H. Freeman, 103, of Modesto. The former Keyes resident died May 20, 2012.

A native of Texas, Grace H. Freeman was born on June 6, 1908 in Madison County, Ark. Mrs. Freeman worked most of her life as a stenographer/secretary. Grace worked for the city of Dallas for a year, then for the Treasury Department. Grace then found work at Seagoville, Texas, working for a correctional facility operated by the Department of Justice.

She lived at the Modesto Western Village Mobilehome Park near Keyes for 20 years prior to moving to Waterford. Two months ago she moved to Golden Haven Care Home in Modesto when she passed away. Mrs. Freeman was a a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church over 20 years. She was also a member of the Ceres Senior Citizens Club.

She leaves behind two sons, Donald Marshall of Waterford and Charles Freeman of Texas; her sister, Lucille Beckham of Kentucky; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson.

Remembrances may be sent to Community Hospice in Modesto.
