A Celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 at Bear Creek Grange Hall, 557 East North Bear Creek, Merced, for Helen Friend, 89, of Hughson. She died May 11, 2010.
The Neptune Society was in charge of cremation.
Born Feb. 7, 1921, Mrs. Friend was a clerk for federal Farmers Home Administration.
She leaves behind her children, Bob Lowe, Jaci Chambers and Helene Beavers; six grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
