Hermann "Sonny" Joseph Schneider Jr.

May 5, 1944 - March 9, 2018

Hermann "Sonny" Joseph Schneider Jr., a resident of Ceres, died peacefully on March 9, 2018 at the age of 73.
Born in San Francisco on May 5, 1944, Hermann served in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1967 and received a National Defense Service Medal in 1966. Before moving to Ceres, Hermann worked as a foreman for Quebecor Printing in San Jose for 32 years.

Hermann's hobbies included fishing, online shopping, casino gambling, playing iPad games, cooking, and collecting coins. Hermann was known for his witty sense of humor and enjoyed cracking jokes and making people laugh.

Hermann is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane Schneider; four children, Annette Clausen (Brad), Todd Schneider (Ada), Troy Schneider (Blanca), and Dennis Schneider; his brother, John Schneider; his sister, Leilani Batters; eight grandchildren, Amber, Briona, Cory, Christian (Ema), Miranda, Destiny, Emily and Eziequel ; and one great-grandchild, Christian Mason; as well as leaving behind his beloved dogs Angel and Spanky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hermann Joseph Schneider Sr. and Rita Grebmeier, sister Marylin Ellis and brother Ralph Schneider.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Calif.
