Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lakewood Funeral Home for James Ervin Easley, 91, of Hughson. He died May 13, 2010 at his home.

A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursda, at at Lakewood Funeral Home.

Interment will be private.

Born Aug. 30, 1918 in Lamar, Ark., Mr. Easley served in the Army during World War II and in the 1950s and 1960s, operated his own trucking company, J.E. Easley Trucking Co. He later worked for Fairbanks Trucking Company and retired from there in 1980. He then worked as an adviser to Burgess Ranch Trucking. Known for his lighthearted humor and fun-loving demeanor, James enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and watching motorsports, especially NASCAR. Mr. Easley also was very active in the Moose Lodge.

He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Easley of Hughson; his children, Barbara Criswell Evan Campbell, Jimmie Burgess, and Rachel Sims; his brother, George "Buddy" Easley; two sisters, Mreata Chedester and Pauline Fuller; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Robert Campbell, and brother Melvern Easley
