A graveside service was held Friday at Ceres Memorial Cemetery for Joan Elizabeth Bagley, 86, of Ceres. She died April 22, 2012 at Grace Home in Livingston.

Born June 4, 1925 in Wichita, Kan., to George L. Hummel and Jewel Annie Rae, Joan moved with her family to Southern California where she met her future husband while working at Lockheed. She married in 1946 and moved to Ceres in 1956 where they raised their five children. Mrs. Bagley enjoyed reading the Bible, camping, fishing, gardening, and her pets.

She leaves behind her children, Linda Sheikewitz of Tracy, Margaret Boyd of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, Meryl Yant of Oakdale, and Joanna Madsen of Modesto; two sisters, Helen Smith of Boulder City, Nev., and Sally Woolery of Rohnert Park; her grandchildren, Melissa Bagley and Tracey Farrugia, both of Malta, Europe, Lisa and Aaron Sheikewitz of Tracy, Lindsey Swingrover and Ryan Alltus, both of Coeur d' Alene, and Chris and Daniel Madsen of Modesto; and her great-grandchildren, Shannon Bagley, David Bagley and Dwayne Farrugia, all of Malta, and Soren Swingrover of Coeur d'Alene. She was preceded in death by husband Larry, son Walter and her parents.
