A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Gladys L. Lemmons Senior Community Center Hall, 450 East A' St., Oakdale, for Joan E. Hassler Dunn, 55, of Ceres. She died Oct. 29, 2007 in the arms of loved ones following a brave battle with cancer.

Born March 24, 1952, Mrs. Dunn was a native of Santa Clara and she grew up in Scotts Valley. She graduated from Soquel High School. While working at Denny's restaurant in Santa Cruz, she met and married Roger Dunn and were married. They were best friends for 30 years.

Mrs. Dunn was described as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family, gardening, traveling, antique shopping and reading a good book next to a warm fire. Joan immersed herself in the holidays with decorating and baking. She found peace in the beauty of nature, especially the mountains and trees.

For the past 20 years, Joan was an electronic banking specialist for Mocse Credit Union in Modesto. Prior to that, Joan worked for Santa Cruz County Bank for six years.

She leaves behind her husband, Roger Dunn of Ceres; her children, Michael Dunn of Modesto and Jamie Dunn of Citrus Heights; her sisters, Bonnie Hassler of Lafayette, Colo., and Cindy Conard of Aptos; her parents, Earl and Janet Hassler of Scotts Valley; and her grandchildren, Kyle Dunn, Nicholas Dunn and Christopher Dunn;
