Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella for John Flick, 73, of Ceres. He died of natural causes on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004

The Ceres Chapel of Franklinb & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Jan. 29, 1931 in Shakleyville, Pa., Mr. Flick lived in Modesto for 31 years and three years at Voyager's Cove in Ceres. He was the former owner of A-1 Transmission in Ceres. Mr. Flick belonged to the American Legion and the E. Clampus Vitus Chapter #58. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 299 in Detroit, Mich. Mr. Flick was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed flying, race cars, planting and cooking.

He leaves behind four children, Sharon Pole and Raymond Flick, both of Modesto, and Edward Flick and Amy Flick, both of Virginia; two sisters, Barbara Powell and Evelyn Powell, both of Greenville, Pa.; and five grandsons. He was preceded in death by his son, David Flick, and granddaughter Andrea.

Remembrances may be sent to the Veterans Administration.
