A graveside service was held Friday morning at Turlock Memorial Park for Joseph Puett, 71, of Ceres. He died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

A memorial service was also held at Monte Vista Chapel. Allen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Born Sept. 18, 1934, Mr. Puett was a native of Neosho, Mo., and had lived in Ceres since 2001, and previously in Denair and San Jose. He owned a trucking firm. Mr. Puett was a member of The Gideons International and Monte Vista Chapel. He coached Little League Baseball for many years, and enjoyed hunting and camping.

He leaves behind his wife, Emma Puett of Ceres; three children, Ken Puett and Shelly Meier, both of Turlock, and Keith Puett of Clovis; his brother, Paul Puett of Porterville; and six grandchildren.
