A memorial service was held Tuesday at the Masonic Center of Modesto for Kenneth L. Jackson, 68, of Hughson. He died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Feb. 20, 1937, Mr. Jackson was a native of Patterson and had lived in Hughson and the Modesto area since 1970. He was an electrical supervisor at E.&J. Gallo Winery and also worked in the space industry at Goldstone Tracking Station. Mr. Jackson served in the Navy from 1956 to 1960. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Modesto Lodge 675, Aahmes Temple in Livermore, Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite and Aahmes Alchemist Clowns. He was past president of the Modesto Shrine Club and past director of Royal Order of Jesters.

Mr. Jackson leaves behind his wife, Marlene Jackson of Hughson; three children, Katrina Louis of Modesto, Jeffrey Doyle Jackson of Jamestown and Kimberly Ballachey of Petaluma; his mother and stepfather, Opal and Thess Peters of Manteca; his brother, Gerald Jackson of Auburn; his sister, Janiece Jackson of St. Paul, Minn.; and six grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Jackson.
