A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 31 at The Fisherman's Club, 10800 Maze Blvd., Modesto, for Laura Rae Parkinson Norwood, 62, of Ceres. She died Jan. 11, 2009.

Born July 28, 1946, Laura lived a life with her heart full of love for her family, softball, and friends. Her love of the game of girls fastpitch softball showed in her coaching skills and her dedication for her teams.
She leaves behind her husband, James Norwood of Ceres; two children, Brent Parkinson Norwood and Sarah Norwood; two sisters, Roberta Parkinson and Lynne Schaadt; her brother, George Parkinson; and two grandchildren, Jessica Norwood and Ryan Norwood.
