A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Lawrence Thomas, 57, of Ceres. He died Sept. 12, 2005 at his home.
Born Sept. 6, 1948, Mr. Thomas was a native of Modesto and lived in Ceres for 52 years. He previously lived in Modesto for 15 years. He was a welder. Mr. Thomas enjoyed bike riding, animals and creating interesting objects out of old items. He also enjoyed teaching others how to weld. He lived in the same house fo 40 years and was close to his neighbors and friends.
He leaves his caregivers, Brian and Tiffany Shinn; two brothers, Allen Sousa of Ceres and Bill Thomas of Angels Camp; and his sister, Carol Fahlencamp of Angels Camp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joseph Souza and Shirley Thomas, and his stepfather, Bill Thomas.
