A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Grace Community Christian Church, 3754 E. Service Rd, Ceres, for Linda Eileen Climer, 60, of Ceres. She died Oct. 4, 2008 in Modesto.

Born Sept. 6, 1948, Linda was a native of Norvelt, Pa., and attended college in Indiana. She was a resident of Ceres for the past 27 years. Mrs. Climer worked in the corrugated paper industry for the past 35 years, over 25 years of which were spent working for Weyerhauser, recently purchased by International Paper. Linda is a member of Grace Community Christian Church in Ceres and has been involved as a volunteer with the local American Cancer Society counseling Women with Breast Cancer. Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She leaves behind her daughter Candy Story of Ceres; her brothers, James McKenna of Vallejo, and Dave McKenna of Florida; three sisters, Debra McHugh and Barbara McKenna, both of Pennsylvania and Denise Barron of Georgia; and two grandchildren, Tyler Story and Laura Story, both of Ceres. She is preceded in death by parents Alice Eileen (Reaney) and Chancey DeWitt McKenna and brother Brian McKenna.

Remembrances may be sent to Grace Community Christian Church (531-1902) or to the American Cancer Society.
