A graveside service was held at Turlock Memorial Park on Monday for Margie Nowlin Davenport Burgess, 66, of Ontario, Oregon. The former Hughson resident died recently.
Allen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Born September 1942, Margie was born in Palo Alto and moved to Hughson where she graduated from Hughson High School. She worked as a waitress most of her life. In 1998 she moved to Ontario, Ore. Margie enjoyed spending time with her cats and playing cards.
She leaves behind two children, Marlon Burgess and Mace Burgess, both of Turlock; her stepfather, Lloyd Davenport of Hughson; her sister, Janet DeBoard of Hughson; two brothers, Dale Davenport of Modesto and Danny Davenport of Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Jessica Brewer, Brian and Tara Burgess, and Shawna and Kevin Frederito. She was preceded in death by father Leroy Nowlin and mother Geneva Davenport.
