Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. today (March 10) with recitation of Rosary to follow both at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Mary Louise Faustino Macedo, 92, of Turlock. The former Hughson resident died March 7, 2010.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Born Dec. 11, 1917 in Half Moon Bay, to Joseph and Mary Faustino, Mary moved to Hughson as a child in 1920. She married the love of her life Manuel Macedo on March 21, 1940. They made their home in Turlock, where she has lived the last 70 years. They made their living as dairy farmers and in retirement grew fresh fruit and vegetables. She also sold gourds at local farmers' markets. Mrs. Macedo enjoyed traveling with her family, gambling, making clothing, and crocheting beautiful afghans and gifts for babies.

She leaves behind her children, Anita L. McCabe and Manuel Dutra Macedo Jr.; three brothers, Larry Mathias, Raymond Mathias and David Mathias; her grandchildren, Brenda Stouffer, Julie Perry, Michele Dixon-James, Neil Macedo, Lena Peelier, Michael McCabe, and Linda Lail; and 19 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel "Curly" Macedo, sisters Lena Green and Isabel Marinko, brothers Eddie Mathias, Louie Mathias, and great-great-grandson Isaac Mannon.
