Masuyuki "Jim" Kimura

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Masuyuki "Jim" Kimura, 86, of Modesto. He died April 5, 2008.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel.

Born Feb. 1, 1922, Mr. Kimura was a native of Santa Monica. Mr. Kimura was the oldest of seven boys who all served in the military. Jim serving in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Stockton Buddhist Temple and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He owned and operated the Town and Country Restaurant on South Ninth Street for 39 years. Mr. Kimura formerly ownd the Lucky Star Restaurant in Stockton.

He leaves behind his wife, Natsuko "Nikki" Kimura of Modesto; three children, Calvin Kimura of Ceres, Janice Dugan and Wayne Kimura, both of Modesto; his brother, Mickike Kimura of Tennessee, Koshi Kimura of Westminster, Tad Kimura, Midorie Kimura and Gary Kimura, all of Las Vegas; his grandchildren, Jeff Kimura, Danielle Kimura, Adam Kimura, Heather Kimura, Jared Kimura and Jessica Kimura; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenzo and Chieko Kimura and brother Shigeki Kimura.
