Mike Pallios

July, 1936 - Dec. 6, 2016

Mike Pallios, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Ceres with his loving wife of 55 years, Irene, by his side on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.

He was born in July of 1936 to Tony and Helen Pallios in Price, Utah. Mike attended college in Price and Salt Lake City, Utah. He came to Ceres in 1960 to work for his cousins at Richland Market and met his future wife Irene Gikas at a church dance. It was love at first sight. They married in 1961. Mike continued his career of working for Richland Markets, later to become Village Fresh in Turlock for a total of 55 years.

Mike loved telling jokes and was great at it. All of his nieces and nephews have fond memories of Uncle Mike's humor and kindness. His biggest pride and joy were his grandchildren. Mike loved taking them to Walmart where he would patiently wait for them to pick out a toy. He also loved taking them to McDonald's for happy meals and would let them play for hours while he would enjoy his coffee.

Mike is survived by his wife Irene Pallios of Ceres; his son, Tony Pallios (Joy) of Turlock; his daughter, Eleni Reid (Stan) of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren, Austin Reid, Olivia Reid, Alex Pallios and Aris Pallios; a great-grandchild, Anniston Reid; and his sister, Georgia Lamph of Concord. He was preceded in death by his parents and two of his sisters, Katherine Kelaides and Depina Pallios.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday at the Greek Orthodox Church.

The family would like to thank Optimal Hospice Care for their support and kindness.

In lieu of flowers the family would like remembrances to made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 313 Tokay Avenue, Modesto CA 95350.
