Services were held Tuesday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Morgan T. Vaughn, 89, of Modesto. The former Ceres resident died Jan. 26, 2010 at his home.

Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born Dec. 5, 1920 in Grandbury, Texas to Robert and Nellie Vaughn, Morgan served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He married the love of his life, Lorese Jackson in Yuma, Ariz.; they would have celebrated their 70th anniversary on Jan. 29. They lived in Ceres 62 years until they moved to Modesto in 2002. Mr. Vaughn worked at J. Hungerford Smith Co for 32 years, retiring from there in 1982.

He leaves behind his wife, Lorese Vaughn of Modesto; his children, Frances Eckoldt and Roger Dale Vaughn, both of Modesto, and Glenn Morgan Vaughn of Roseville; his grandchildren, Leslie Vaughn and Vicki Lemos, both of Waterford, Kevin Adkins of Port Lions, Alaska, Anthony Vaughn of Ontario, Scott Vaughn of Chino, and Michael Vaughn of Thousand Oaks; and his great-grandchildren, Derrick Trinidad, Drew, Chloe Lemos, Josh Lemos, Allan Vaughn, Scott Vaughn, Katerina Vaughn, Emily Vaughn and Amy Adkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Myrle Rundle, brothers Earl, Curtis, Ira, Arthur and Odie Vaughn, great-grandson Jacob Lemos.
