A memorial Celebration of Life was held Tuesday at Allen Mortuary for Nadine Nova Crabtree, 84, of Hughson. She died recently at Memorial Medical Center comforted by her loving family.

Born in August 1928 in Manteca to Wesley and Mary (Green) Morrill, Nadine was the youngest of seven children raised in the Hughson area. She graduated from Hughson High School in 1947. In 1948 she married Richard Crabtree and they had three sons: Rick, Hardy, and Keith. On the family farm they grew peaches, almonds, and walnuts for the rest of their working years. She was a member of the Young Farmers and the Mother Lode Mineral Society and enjoyed basket weaving, lapidary, gem faceting and RV travel to the reservoirs, to Oregon for the fall salmon runs, and rock hunting adventures to the Mother Lode.

She leaves behind two sons, Rick Crabtree of Elko, Nev., and Hardy Crabtree of Hughson; her daughter-in-law, Linda Crabtree of Hughson; five grandchildren, Shawna Eklund, Sonja Vera, Michael Crabtree, Brian Crabtree, and Lisa Crabtree; and five great-grandchildren, Erin Pederson, Ricky Vera, Ryan Vera, Alexandria Pederson and Leroy Brown Vera. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard in 2003, and son Keith in January.

Remembrances may be sent to the Hughson Fire Department or the Mother Lode Mineral Society.
