A memorial service was held at the Hughson Church of Christ on Sunday for Nancy Dean McGaughy, 82, of Hughson. She died Dec. 17, 2010 at the Country Villa in Modesto.
Interment was private at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.
Born Dec. 9, 1928 in Calexico, Calif., as the third child of Herman McGaughy and Ella Womack McGaughy, Nancy lived in Calexico for 10 years and then moved to various places in Central California. She lived in Visalia where she graduated from high school in 1946. In 1947 she moved with her family to Southern California. Nancy lived in the Los Angeles area for 37 years. In 1948, Nancy took employment with the Security Pacific National Bank in Los Angeles, beginning as a file clerk. She took early retirement in 1984 as an assistant vice president in the bank's Operations Dept. after 35 years of service. Mrs. McGaughy was a resident of the Hughson area where she has lived for 12 years.
She leaves behind a brother, Lloyd McGaughy of Hughson; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Billy McGaughy.
