Nellie Mae Inzana

A memorial service was held Sunday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Nellie Mae Inzana, 86, of Hughson. She died July 15, 2009 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson from lymphoma cancer.

Born March 27, 1923 in Jefferson City, Mo., Nellie spent most of her early years in Rolla, Mo. She graduated from Rolla High in 1941. She met the lover her life, Tony, at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., on April 15, 1945. They eloped and were married on Jan. 20, 1946. She worked at various secretarial jobs at several military installations while Tony was in the service. She worked for the Hueneme School District for 17 years as a secretary and librarian, retiring in 1983. Mrs. Inzana traveled throughout the U.S. in a trailer and especially enjoyed spending time at their summer trailer in the hills of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Inzana enjoyed reading, knitting, shopping and making items for her children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind her husband Tony Inzana of Hughson; her sons, Anthony Inzana II, and Timothy Inzana; daughters, Tamara and Tina; step-daughter, Diane; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Tracy Suzanne, parents Everett and Inez Dessieux, sisters Erma and Evelyn and brother Woodrow.
