A funeral service was held Saturday at Allen Mortuary for Niranjan Kaur Uppal, 82, of Turlock. She died Aug. 2, 2011 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Born July 1929 in India, Niranjan lived in Ceres from 1988 to 1998, when she moved to Turlock. She belonged to the Turlock Sikh Temple. Mrs. Uppal enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her children, Jagtar Uppal, Mohan Singh, Satnam Uppal, Bahadur Uppal, Paramjit Gill, Balwinder Chung, and Surjit Kaur; and 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Sadhu Singh-Uppal, son Gurdev Uppal, and her parents.
