Services were May 14 at Richland Faith Assembly of God Church in Ceres for Patricia Ann Mahurin, 55, of Ceres. She died May 8, 2008 at her Ceres home.
Born Oct. 28, 1952, Mrs. Mahurin was a native of Canton, Ohio and raised in Marshville and Sardis, W.V. She moved to Modesto in 1961, with her parents, where she attended Downey High School. She received her and LVN degree in nursing in 1992 from Modesto Junior College. She lived in Ceres for over 18 years. Mrs. Mahurin loved her family and loved to laugh. She enjoyed music, being in the mountains, and was a big Star Trek fan. Patti also loved God and attended Richland Faith Assembly of God in Ceres for the last three years.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Mike Mahurin of Ceres; her children, Trista Kabaluk of Newman, and C.J. Mahurin of Ceres; two sisters, Elta Leesan of Nevada, Wilma May Herrod of Marshville, W.V.; grandson Nikolis; and eight granddaughters, Mikalya, Allisanne, Carlee, Nicole, Isis, Tanaya, Haily and Zari. She is preceded in death by parents Frederick Leander Shaffer and Ian Hortence Shaffer, son Kaine Dale Franklin, and sisters Barbara Mayle and Helen Yeager.
