A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Paul Wilbourne, 58, of Hughson. He died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.
Born Oct. 16, 1947, Mr. Wilbourne was a native of Seattle. He lived in Hughson two years and previously lived in Southern California and Seaside. Mr. Wilbourne worked on the Alaskan pipeline for one year, was a chef in Southern California for 15 years and worked as an electrician for Chemical Lime Co., Salinas, and Best Electric, Modesto. He was an Army veteran, serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. Mr. Wilbourne was a member of IBEW Local 684 of Modesto, Flying “W” Riding Club of Waterford, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Monterey and Watsonville Taiko, and volunteered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and 4-H. He enjoyed music, reading, computers, sailing, traveling, golf and NASCAR.
He leaves behind his wife, Debbie Deegan of Hughson; four children, Sean Nelson and Diana Nelson, both of Southern California, Patrick Behr of Paso Robles, and Sarah Behr of Portland, Ore.; four stepchildren, Wendy Miller of Los Osos, Deidre Williams of Bremerton, Wash., Sean Williams of Berkeley and Mindi Cavanagh of Denair; his halfbrother, Geoffrey Williams of Santa Clara; his half-sister, Candy Hall of Madera; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
