A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. today at United Pentecostal Church of Ceres, 3315 Central Ave., Ceres, for Rev. Denzal Joy Wilburn, 89, of south Modesto. He died June 22, 2012.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Franklin & Downs Funeral Home.

Born Oct. 26, 1922 in Henrietta, Okla., and later moved to Modesto where he has lived for the past 76 years. Denzal was a licensed minister in the United Pentecostal Church for 60 years. He also was employed in metal fabrication for 36 years.

He leaves behind his wife, Martha Wilburn of south Modesto; his son, Derrick Wilburn of Modesto; his step daughter, Deanna Knight of Ceres; his grandchildren, Deborah Wilburn, Tarin Martin and Tahnee Wilburn; his step grandchildren, Katrina Knight and Erynn Knight; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by first wife of 43 years, Roberta Wilburn, parents Reverend Mike and Emma Sullivan and son Gaylord Wilburn.\
